The model was made of Lily Antique Bedspread Cotton and a number 8 steel crochet hook.

Measures about 12 x 18 inches.

One mat takes about 350 yards of thread.

To Join .Blocks:
Place blocks in position (14 x 18 blocks). With over-and-over stitches sew one side of one block (from ch-4 between d c-groups to ch-4 between next d c-groups) to corresponding side of the adjacent block (always having wrong side of work on top). Then fill in spaces left open by motifs as follows: Fill-in-Lace.

1st round: Attach thread to 3rd s c on one block (counting from right to left), * ch 9, skip joining of 2 blocks, s c in 1st s c on adjacent block, ch 9, skip next s c of same block, s c in next s c. Repeat from * around (8 loops in all). See stitch detail.
